Simple to use and powerful solution. Scales by simply stacking units on top.
Not available in black

For a photographer or professional like me Disc Stakka is a simple to use and powerful solution. I'm a small business and my time is valuable. When a client what?s me to modify some old work or I need an file, I can now find any archived file in about 15 seconds, rather than the 30 minutes or hours rummaging through my desk or shelves to find a disc, and then having to examine each disc individually to find the file I need. The solution is simple to use, with the OpdiTracker software, which comes bundled with the Disc Stakka. Using the software you simply catalogue the disc using your computer (which is a simple automatic process) and then insert disc into the Disc Stakka. When I need an file, I simply use OpdiTracker to find the file (a 10 second exercise) and then simply eject the disc. It saves me heaps of time !!! I?ve got two of them and highly recommend it.

Can locate a CD or DVD by title or file in seconds
Only available online, so can't "touch & feel" one before buying

What I've found from using it so far: - Very easy to set up, and even easier to use. - Software driven through Windows Explorer, so using it is the same as browsing drives on my PC - I use it for data, music and games discs at the same time; works fine for all of them - Significant improvement over its predecessors and competitors (I've tried some of them as well) - Great for archiving old and new discs, but still be able to find when I want them. And it should work for Blu-ray and HD-DVD as well, so it's not going obsolete any time soon (that's unusual for any IT product!) I'll add more later if I think of anything else.

1) The software integrates with Windows Explorer 2) Easy to set up and use 3) Great online help 4) Grows with you as needed 5) The software's check out feature is pretty cool
Would like to see a black and silver version of the Stakka

I highly recommend the Disc Stakka to anyone looking for a better way to protect their master CD's. I've owned 2 other similar organizers from KDS and Century CD in the past, and they didn't provide anywhere near the functionality that the Imation product does. The Stakka is the real deal! Glad that someone finally figured out how to put a solution together that works, is easy to use, and that can grow with you as your needs require. The Disc Stakka has put an end to lost CD's, and also prevents them from getting scratched up. The check out feature is really neat. Last year, I had to replace at least 3 of my son's PlayStation games at $40-50 a clip. I can buy another Stakka for that kind of money. The software's search feature takes the headache out of sorting through boxes of CD's to find old pictures. A simple commonsense solution to what has become a huge problem. What a lifesaver. Kudos Imation! Definitely the best buy I've made in a long time - lots of value here.

Simple to set-up. Handles every type of disc (music CD's, video DVD's, my business data cd's, my children's playstation and x-box games, family pictures...). Super software.
Can't knock it- it works flawlessly.

My home office was a mess. My wife and kids constant burn discs and forget to label them. Hence, whenever I needed to find a particular disc- it took forever. This product caught my eye, and I figured for $139- why not give it a try? My only regret is that I didn't know about the stakka a year ago !I began by putting all my master discs into the unit. Then I added all my work-related discs. What amazed me is that the software not only allowed me to find the disc I wanted instantly, but I could actually find any file on a disc immediately. This thing is incredible.Next I added some music cd's. The software automatically searches the internet, identifies the artist/album- and downloads all the soundtracks. Now I can find any album, artist, or even a particular song instantly. So then I experimented with my digital photo discs. Digital cameras are great and I use one extensively, but it was a nightmare to find specific photos when I wanted to. Now I CAN FIND ANY INDIVIDUAL PHOTO ON ANY DISC in a few seconds.I didn't realize how many discs I had laying around, until I started putting them in the stakka. Before I knew it, I filled the stakka with 100 discs.I bought another stakka and quickly realised the meaning of the name "stakka". I took it out of the box, placed it on top of my first unit- and that was it. I immediately had storage capacity for a hundred more discs- no fuss, no muss. It has these interconnecting pins that insert into one another and activate the additional unit(s). No additional wires, no electrical plugs, no additional software to load- simply "stack" and use. This is incredible.I have an advertising business and we store a tremendous amount of data and ad campaigns on discs at my business office. You guessed it, I put one in my office- and it revolutionized our management of data. What's even better, from my home, I can now find any disc or file in either my home or remote business office instantly. That's right- I can now find any file regardless of where the "Stakka" is physically located. This thing has completely changed my life- both at home and in my business office. I am completely organised, my desktops are neat and orderly- and I can find anything in an instant. What a great product, and a great solution to a problem that I didn't realize that I had. You've got to see this thing in action. Get one and enter the 21st century of data management/storage.A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER !!!!

Gives new meaning to Plug-and-Play. Smooth and more simplified compared to ANY comparable units on the market. Explorer interface flawless, detailed, easy to find any data and fast!
Networking capabilities not there yet...hoping to see update soon.

Without a doubt plenty of "Bang-for-the-buck" from the Imation/Opdicom group. I have been running the old KDS CDO towers (2) for about three years. Plenty of forced back-ups and re-installs to cause migraines. The latest SW from KDS dates back to the early '03s. No support, no updates and old and creaky best describe the CDO's. Time for an upgrade. Enter Imation: With its simplified, non-power hungry hardware (one USB for five units and no external power requirements), smooth install, interface and flawless detail back-ups, this package is the best source for removable optical disk storage out there. There are so many users complaining about the lack of built in optical drives on this type of unit, it's just absurd. In order to keep manufacturing costs down and product development moving forward, these companies have taken the most logical route in NOT incorporating an optical drive. One might be able to accept these complaints if one does not own a PC with an optical drive installed, but wait, there is no such thing on the market today, is there? Enough bashing, this unit is the one to own (or maybe the 100 towers of five Stakkas=50,000 disks!)
